Today's Bible Study: What the Bible says about Apostles

Jesus gave his disciples special powers to come against unclean spirits and to cast them out. He also gave them the power to heal all kinds of sickness and disease.

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and ll manner of disease. Matt. 10:1

List of the original twelve disciples which Jesus Christ chose

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Matt. 10:2
Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus. Matt. 10:3
Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Matt. 10:4

Christ's Apostles' talk to Him. After John the Baptist was beheaded and before Jesus fed the five thousand, Jesus gathered the apostles together. When they talked to Him, they told Jesus where they had been, what they had done, and what they had taught

And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. Mark 6:30

Jesus chose His disciples and called them Apostles

And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; Luke 6:13

Apostles ask the Lord to increase their faith

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. Luke 17:5
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Luke 17:6

Christ's Apostles teach, baptize, break bread, and pray. After the Apostle Peter addressed the people at Pentecost many people listened to him, were baptized, followed the apostles' teachings, and rituals of breaking bread and prayers.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls Acts 2:41
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles ' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42

Christ's Apostles are able to perform signs and wonders. People were so amazed at the signs and wonders performed by the Apostles that they became afraid of the power that the apostles have.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. Acts 2:43

Rulers come out against Christ's Apostles because they could perform miracles, speak in tongues, had power, and are filled with the Holy Ghost. The high priests and elders saw Peter and John heal a man and they were afraid to stand against them because so many people had also seen the miracle so they threatened the people telling them not to tell what had happened there but the people told all that they had seen and what the rulers had said to them.

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31

Believer's share their worldly possessions with each other.

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. Acts 4:32

Christ's Apostle's told people about Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead and great grace was upon all of them because of it.

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33
